19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after spring of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on court had led some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.

He rescued 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
